About Salvatore Pizza

Our Story, Values, and the People Behind the Perfect Pizza

Our Story

Salvatore Pizza began in 1985 when Giuseppe Salvatore, a native of Naples, Italy, moved to California with a dream of bringing authentic Neapolitan pizza to the West Coast. After years of working in various Italian restaurants, Giuseppe saved enough to open the first Salvatore Pizzeria in a small storefront in San Francisco.

What started as a modest family business with Giuseppe making the dough, his wife Maria preparing the sauce, and their children helping after school, has grown into one of California's most beloved pizza establishments. Today, Salvatore Pizza operates seven locations across California, but we've never lost touch with our roots.

Giuseppe's commitment to authenticity and quality remains at the heart of everything we do. We still use his original dough recipe, imported Italian tomatoes, and the traditional techniques he brought from Naples. While we've expanded our menu to include California-inspired creations, we always honor the traditions that make Neapolitan pizza special.

Now in its second generation of family ownership, Salvatore Pizza continues to bring people together through the simple pleasure of excellent food made with passion and care.
